One of the newest initiatives that promote Piraeus’ cultural heritage and architecture is “Piraeus ArchWalks.
A virtual 3D tour application that offers visitors an immersive experience of the city’s neoclassical heritage of the 19th century.
What is “Piraeus ArchWalks”
“Piraeus ArchWalks” is an AR virtual tour application that consists of four architectural walks that start at key locations and offer access to Piraeus’ hidden gems. The program is designed to promote Piraeus’ cultural heritage and architecture as a new tourism product.
The walks cover four different zones, with AR photographs, AR navigation, and informative AR texts for every architectural stop along the way.
AR Navigation Technology
ArchWalks provides a dynamic SDK map for location-based functionalities, such as directions from point A to point B, directions from the current location to the destination, point-and-click directions, and directions via waypoints. This makes it easy for visitors to navigate the city and discover its architectural treasures at their own pace.
